#Lync for Mac 14.0.7 Bug

December 18, 2013 Leave a comment Go to comments

Just a quick heads up, if you are running Lync for Mac 14.0.7 and you unplug a USB Audio Device (i.e. Plantronics headset, etc), Lync will crash. Found this at a client and had a few co-workers confirm.  Hopefully Microsoft will get that fixed quickly but I’m guessing we will have to wait until 14.0.8 in three months.

UPDATE: It has been confirmed as a bug and should be fixed when 14.0.8 is released (sometime in Q1-2014).

Cool. Yeah. This one is killing me. Do you have a MS bug ID #?

Except … seems like one cannot download this — have to have Support contract w/MS.

Sorry, I didn’t even check. I received it from my client who does have an active support agreement. Maybe it will help someone else out there though. The rest of us will just have to wait til 14.0.8 hits the street maybe?

14.0.8 is out http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2952672 .. and i can confirm that at least for ME, the audio-source switch crash is fixed, and finally the directory service works. Screen sharing seems faster and less error prone as well. Good Luck all, and thanks M$ for finally fixing these issues!
